Sabbath

The Sabbath refers to the holy period of time between Friday night sundown and Saturday night sundown when Jews are forbidden from performing any work. Typically the Sabbath, or "shabbes" in Yiddish ("shabbat" in Hebrew), is a time for family to rest, eat together, and pray.
