Educator Resources

This page will feature a curated selection of educational resources created or vetted by experienced Holocaust educators. All materials in this library are designed for use with Survival & Witness in Colorado classrooms.

We invite teachers to freely download, circulate, and make use of the resources posted here for educational, non-commercial purposes. The content may also be revised based on individual classroom needs, but the Survival & Witness logo and URL [survivalandwitness.org] must be clearly displayed for any distribution of materials originating from this page.

Teachers using Survival & Witness in their classrooms are encouraged to design their own original materials for use with the site and submit them for possible future inclusion on this page. All materials selected for inclusion will be credited to the designer(s) and formatted with the Survival & Witness logo. Teachers who submit materials that are selected for inclusion will be compensated upon online publication. For more information or to submit your materials, please contact us at hai@du.edu.

Request a Presentation by a Holocaust Survivor Speaker

The Survivor Speakers Bureau of the Holocaust Awareness Institute at the University of Denver can connect educators with Holocaust survivors who generously share their time to speak with students and community organizations about their experiences before, during, and after the Holocaust.

Survivor speakers’ presentations generally run for 30-60 minutes with opportunity for Q&A. They are best suited for audiences 12 years of age and older (7th grade and up). Presentations may take place in person or via Zoom.

The events of the Holocaust unfolded over 80 years ago, and the number of survivors who experienced the Holocaust firsthand and are still sharing their stories is decreasing with every year. Please remember that speakers will be sharing private and often traumatic memories, and keep in mind that eyewitnesses to these events are elderly. Your sensitivity to this is critical to planning a successful program.

Speaker requests must be submitted via the form below at least four weeks in advance of your event. We cannot guarantee the availability of a speaker at your requested time. Please help us to process requests as efficiently as possible by completing the form. Should you have questions, please contact us at hai@du.edu.
