Today located in Poland, Bialystock has been alternately claimed by Poland, Lithuania, Russia, and Belarus. It was occupied by Nazi Germany from 1941-1944.
Nuremberg, Germany

Site of annual Nazi Party rallies, elaborately staged propaganda events that were designed to showcase the strength of National Socialism in Germany and abroad. The Nuremberg Race Laws were announced during the 1935 rally here. Nuremberg was also the site of post-war trials for war crimes against leading Nazi officials before the International Military Tribunal in November 1945, and subsequent trials of suspected Nazi war criminals before American military tribunals.

This map features a selection of locations that figure in the history of the Holocaust. This is not a comprehensive map. The featured locations were selected based on their relevance to the Survival & Witness project. Many sites have been omitted due to the limited scope of this project; new locations will be added as the project is expanded.
